We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you have pain or an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you that day. We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting. For your convenience, we will try to arrange your office visit for times that fit your schedule.
Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. This includes x-ray’s, a visual examination, charting and periodontal probing. Occasionally, treatment can be performed the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day. Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
Your referral slip if applicable.
A list of medications you are presently taking.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
48 hours cancellation notice is required for routine dental appointments to avoid a cancellation charge. This allows the appointment to be offered to others. Appointments longer than our routine appointments will also require 48 hours notice. In the event of late cancellations we will try to rebook the clinical time and the need to make these charges.
Dental emergencies will be treated the same day. We have a contact on our answer machine providing weekend cover for patients. Please call as early as possible so that we may accommodate you.
Payment Options :
The practice will submit a payment claim for dental procedures and treatment to the medical scheme on behalf of the patient. A once off administrative fee of R80.00 per patient will be charged for claims submitted.
For cash/card payments after treatments, no administrative costs will be charged. The patient will receive a detailed account of dental procedures and treatments to submit the claim to his/her medical scheme.
Please note that the payment of the full dental account that you receive from this practice will ultimately always remain your responsibility.
We have our own Complaints Service and in the first instance you should contact us. If you are still not happy with the response you receive from us you are entitled to raise this to South African Dental Association or SADA.
